January 7th, 2009 at 12:27:34 One thing to keep in mind is that although the President will be replaced in January, the financial backers are pretty much the same, so their agenda is maintained. Bush and McCain are both under the influence of powerful money groups which do not want the U.S. to leave the middle east. I am talking about the Republican Jewish Coalition, founders of Freedoms Watch. Namely Mel Sembler and Sheldon Adelson. You need to vote for the candidate that is NOT controlled by these groups..if you want peace

January 7th, 2009 at 13:13:32 The U.S. has been attacking one country after another using paper thin pretexts for the last hundred years. Every U.S. presidential term another country is invaded, regardless of who controls which house or who's president, sometimes with lots of media coverage, sometimes with almost nil. After a period of time, when the involved officials have died, documents are declassified and always show that the pretext was false, but by then it's obscure history. It's obvious that the U.S. is the problem.

January 7th, 2009 at 13:59:30 As Amb. Pickering clearly lays out, there are reasonable alternatives to the confrontation with Iran. We need to make sure that both the American people and our elected representatives in office understand this.
