Smooth R&B balladry by way of Britannia, but no surprise because this was one of the results of the band having hired Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who produced Janet Jackson's Control. Smooth as faux-soul gets. How about Joanne Catherall's broken-hearted spoken vocal interlude? You have to admit her accent and deadly serious delivery sound comical. Almost has a 1990s Backstreet Boys feel, which isn't a bad thing: it just means they were rather ahead of their time.
