January 6th, 2009 at 19:30:08 faerials, that's one of the best comment I have read for a long time.
January 6th, 2009 at 19:53:07 Cause thats just how it is, this is apart of the french army only, special forces if you like. A born french havent been allowed into the army neither have women been since it was created. Back in the days when the rules where established it was for rough ppl that diden't value there life that high. Now FFL has a hell of high standard if you compare to SAS and SF or what not, FFL do what others don't to put it like that. FFL is really respected on the battlefield
January 6th, 2009 at 20:16:06 The French army is very stupid and they suck period.
January 6th, 2009 at 20:39:05 Why not?
January 6th, 2009 at 21:02:04 A French national can join the Legion now. They join under an assumed name.
January 6th, 2009 at 21:25:03 Reality check boys,ok?
January 6th, 2009 at 21:48:02 25%? A person with a french passport ISEN'T ALLOWED TO JOIN THE French Foreign Legion. Period
January 6th, 2009 at 22:11:01 You didn't understand, he is right: officialy, french can't join the legion, but french people join the legion by taking a new nationality (such as belgium, swiss,...).
January 6th, 2009 at 22:34:00 actually its a 25% of french nationals
January 6th, 2009 at 22:56:59 C'est vrai.
January 6th, 2009 at 23:19:58 Everobody! You can think all you want! English and French people like speak hours about who is the best but it's a lost of time if you need relaxation do sport and stop close your mind! And believe me French soldiers and UK soldiers are friend since near than a century, they have lost together (June 1940, brits release in Dunkirk) they have win together (Suez, Crimean War, WW1)they respect each other, like work together! Stereotypes it's for fools!
January 6th, 2009 at 23:42:57 Actually the French can join now.. They can declare whatever nationality they want, usually a French speaking counrty and enlist.
January 7th, 2009 at 00:28:55 Yes but it's the french who teach them !
January 7th, 2009 at 00:51:54 you can't be french in the legion. It 's a rule. So french who wants to be in the legion have a new nationality.
God Bless.
January 7th, 2009 at 02:23:50 50% of them are, all the Officers are French or at least 90% of them
January 7th, 2009 at 03:09:48 best troops in the french army aint french!
January 7th, 2009 at 03:32:47 they aint mercs. still Gurkhas all the way!
January 7th, 2009 at 03:55:46 Whether it is british gurkhas or french legion..In both appears nepalese..So ofcourse both are the toughest of the tough..so long live gurkhalese..
January 7th, 2009 at 04:18:45 2REP could be compared to SAS... but true, FFL are not special forces but elite conventional infantry army
