January 6th, 2009 at 22:17:13 I didn't tell you that,I was replying to choefoe! & yes I know that Fred Astaire was & is Michael's influence! Read again my comment, pls! I didn't disagree with that! So,pls stop telling me about that!
January 6th, 2009 at 22:40:12 We don't say you're stupid but you can't deny that Fred Astaire was and still is a big influence for Michael Jackson. Just like James Brown. Michael was inspired by those two legends. But you got a point when you say that the artists nowadays just copy the King of Pop.
January 6th, 2009 at 23:03:11 Damn, I see alot of the dance moves from smooth criminal video came from Fred Astaire movies. It is soooooo obvious. Here is something else to chew on. If you have ever seen the Court Jester with Danny Kaye you can see that MC Hammer used some of the dance steps and clothing from the scene where the Court Jester is to be knighted.
January 6th, 2009 at 23:26:10 I understand what u meant! I'm not so stupid,ok? & I'm not that young! So stop!
January 7th, 2009 at 23:49:09 3:40 Beyonce- Naughty Girl
January 7th, 2009 at 00:12:08 Fine with me,you don,t get the point because you,re to young I guess. You don,t seem to get what I mean.I would say read more of the comment so i don,t have to repeat myself,if not; okay with me too ,peace
January 7th, 2009 at 00:35:07 Yes,I know that! Michael was inspired by Fred, but Michael also a GREAT DANCER! Fred was great in his lifetime,Michael is great in his lifetime! & not only in dancing! That's also a fact! & madonna is not a good dancer.
January 7th, 2009 at 00:58:06 That is also a fact, but Astaire was born in 1899 I find that remarkeble that he still has so much influence,he tought Michael some usefull things, Lionel Ritchie wrote dancing on the ceiling by watching Astaire just doing that and Madonna is also a fan
January 7th, 2009 at 01:21:05 Amazimh!
January 7th, 2009 at 01:44:04 Michael has his own style! He inspired by that man,but he still has his own style! the artists nowadays are copying every movement of Michael! He inspired & still inspires millions of artists! That's a fact!

January 7th, 2009 at 02:53:01 Thank you so much for posting. The past year I've been getting into classic hollywood and watching a lot of the great actors. Just now am getting into Fred Astaire stuff. Born in the '80s so obviously MJ is common knowledge. My mouth dropped when I saw these clips. It looks like MJ "borrowed" a lot and here all along I thought it was MJ's completely original style. Anywhoo, thanks for the enlightening me haha.
January 7th, 2009 at 03:16:00 For tech info I would say contact the owner. He made it! At the end of the video you can seee who was the choreagrapf,I believe Michael Kidd. It,s from the movie "the band wagon", Jackson made smooth crim as an tribute to Astaire;)
January 7th, 2009 at 03:38:59 exacly what I said, people are dancing and singing and use art since the dawn of time and ofcourse if someone does do something, someone else got inspired and takes it a bit further, like Picasso said about Vincent v Gogh"when nobody new where to go he found a way for us all. Inspiration in art. etc.
January 7th, 2009 at 04:01:58 This is B-a-a-a-y-a-a-d. Where can I find tech info on this video? Who choreographed this? Fred Astair was the shit.
January 7th, 2009 at 04:24:57 ...Cool...
January 7th, 2009 at 04:47:56 I just shat myself. FA is amazing! I can see was inspired by him and also James Brown.
January 7th, 2009 at 05:10:55 MJ DIDNT COPY FRED ASTAIRE!!!! he was simply inspired by him, said by the man himself! im sure if became famous (not that it will happen) id take some stuff from MJ!
January 7th, 2009 at 05:33:54 Michael Jackson didnt copy this..it was an inspiration, said by Michael himself...people who knows about these videos are clear about it. They dance veryyyyy differenta and Jackson created new things for his Moonwalk.
January 7th, 2009 at 05:56:53 Michael Jackson COPIED ...everything from here. Everything! JUST like he Copied from Westside Story.... Wow....... Eye opener.
January 7th, 2009 at 06:19:52 Just shows you dont know everything! fred astair's dance and the whole backdrop is of course undenibially similar to smooth criminal.Remember success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. These entertainers work damn hard. God bless all artists for their gift to the world.
