  1. JOSU Says:
Quicksilver were active in S.F. years before Santana came on the scene in '68-9(Fillmore, Avalon, etc.)
  2. Devonna Says:
Yeah, by the time this was recorded (the Fillmore farewell concerts were early July 1971) Cipollina was in a band called Copperhead.
  3. YUEYAN Says:
That's Duncan on lead guitar. The lineup for this show: gary duncan david freiberg dino valente greg elmore mark ryan chuck steaks
  4. Lindley Says:
is that greg elmore on solo who s in the band at this point no cippolina looks like freiberg s there
  5. Cleantha Says:
I don't think this is John Cippolina playing here. He was a thumpick man, and the guy doing the lead gtr solo is using a flat pick. The style is substantially different. Cippolina was a more distintive user of the whammy bar.
  6. Jozzlynn Says:
Enjoy my friend Suzie!!! Can you remember?
  7. Gardner Says:
Really? Watch the vid again. He adds a few nice chords & notes, but not much continuity or substance. And his solo? Well...that's just my opinion.
  8. Alejandra Says:
I agree. He had a lot of health problems. Probably why he was not at this performance. Although, he was much in demand as a keyboardist, and may have been at a recording studio somewhere. And, he was more of a studio musician than a performer. But I admire him for that. I'd rather listen to a musician than a thespian any day.
  9. Luyu Says:
nicky never got the accolades he should have, right? he was the Best!!
  10. Yule Says:
    best version i've heard.
  11. WETHERBY Says:
The band went through a major change when Dino Valente aka Chester Powers joined. He's the lead singer on this tape. Before him they were much more instrumental blues/jam orientated. Their some time guitarist John Cipollina played with a few other bands, saw him with a band in Guerneville Ca in 82. His bro Mario played with Huey Lewis.
  12. Rapere Says:
They developed about the same time in the same music scene. It would be really hard to say who influenced who.
  13. OTTAVIA Says:
who came first? Santana or these guys? This sounds like it could be a Santana song....
  14. Devon Says:
Wait, how does a communist ban shit for not adhering to religious values?
  15. ABERTO Says:
They were, and still are, hugely underrated...but they were making history. John is one of the most inspiring guitarists that I have ever heard in my life.
  16. Enid Says:
Truly the quintessential 60's Frisco band. Their sound embodies the time! A great video that is greatly appreciated !!
  17. GUISEPPINA Says:
hahaha if only americans were as smart
  18. Buach Says:
watching that guy play guitar 3 minutes into it is worth watching the whole thing.
  19. OTTAVIA Says:
I saw these guys in concert many moons ago. All I can say is WOW!
  20. Leonda Says:
Duncan is a good guitarist, but no he isn't as good as Cippollina was, few were.
  21. Min Says:
Cip had left the band by this point; he did contribute on the studio version released in '70.
  22. Jonatan Says:
lol Casting an absentee ballot from New Zealand, are we? :)
  23. KHRISTOS Says:
stop moaning folks and go get see Gary Duncans Quicksilver while you can...before communist hussein obama govt bans all music as unislamic
  24. Lamar Says:
I didn't know Gary Duncan was as good as John Cipollina, I always thought the lead guitar on this song was by John.
  25. HROCESBURH Says:
    good thanks!
